Back in August 2002, Jack and I threw his ' 68 Shelby on a trailer, I packed up my ' 93 and we headed North toward Michigan for the famous Woodward Dream Cruise.  Woodward Avenue is a 6 lane road that traverses several towns in Michigan. Straight with few lights, it is a cruiser's or street racer's dream.

Ferndale Michigan hosted "Mustang Alley" : an all-Mustang car show.
Back out on Woodward, the number of cool rides was awesome...
Average speed is 20 to 35 mph and the streets are lined with motorhead enthusiasts and vendors. Most of the big auto makers sponsored events and provided activity tents.
The law enforcement presence is huge, but the cops are cool. Unlike Wildwood or Ocean City, there is very little lawlessness. Luckily there are few if any imports buzzing around and the emphasis is on American vehicles 25 years old and older, but there was plenty of modern muscle rolling around...
We cruised and showed both Friday and Saturday - all day, well into the night. At night it was back to the hotel lounge for food and spirits. The weather was perfect, and the biggest expense was the hotel and gasoline. The 11 hour trip is not for the weak, but if you make the trip, you'll think it worth it...
